Groups and Activities

At Playgroup, we offer a varied programme of group sessions and activities, led by our experienced staff team and visiting specialist providers.

Each session is thoughtfully planned around the children’s interests, individual needs and stages of development. These shared experiences offer opportunities to explore new skills, build confidence and friendships, and enjoy learning together.

Legro

Legro is a Language Enrichment Group written by the ‘time to talk™’ team.

Legro uses the ‘chatter matters™’ and ‘time to talk™’ principles and embeds these within the context of storytelling. It utilises the ‘WellComm Big Book of Ideas’ activities alongside other fun, multi-sensory and creative activities, based on the language of the story. High quality adult interaction strategies are foundational to the sessions, which is why they are led by our 4 Time 2 Talk Champions. The engaging, repetitive and individualised nature of the programme makes sure each child develops their language and communication skills to full potential.

Creative Flair

Our Wednesday dance sessions are provided by Creative Flair and currently led by Olivia in our quiet room. And on a Friday by Ashleigh.

These lively sessions give children opportunities to explore movement and music, develop their balance and coordination, and express themselves creatively. They also encourage listening, confidence and joining in with others.

Children are supported to take part at their own pace, with many joining in enthusiastically as they settle into Playgroup life.

Hot dinners

A balanced and healthy diet is important but meal times bring so much more. Meals are a time to try new things, socialise and reset. Our older children have the opportunity to go over to the primary school and have hot dinners. They are using a new Catering company called Miquill. They are an independent company that takes pride in offering tailored catering services to schools. You can find out more about them on their website. Please click here to see this terms menu.

On a Tuesday Afternoon we have started Nursery Ninja sessions for our Preschool year run by Archie.
