Educational Aims and Objectives
Our Educational Aims
We support each child’s learning through play, caring relationships and experiences that build on their interests. Our aims reflect the seven areas of learning and development, with opportunities adapted to each child’s stage of development and individual needs.

Characteristics of Effective Learning
Alongside what children learn, we nurture how they learn. We give children time, encouragement and support to explore ideas, persevere and become confident learners.
Playing and exploring
Children investigate, discover and try things out. We encourage them to follow their curiosity, draw on familiar experiences and have a go at something new.
Active learning
Children become involved in activities, keep trying when something is challenging and enjoy their achievements. We support their concentration and celebrate their effort and persistence.
Creating and thinking critically
Children develop their own ideas, make connections and find different ways to solve problems. We encourage them to make choices, test their ideas and reflect on what happens.
